Scarf & Apple Season

Friday, 9 October 2015

It's Fall!!!! I mean, technically Fall started last month, and we did have the cooler temperatures, but the real signs of it are only starting to show-- the changing of the leaves, the kids bundling up to go to school, the first pumpkins appearing in the grocery stores... It finally feels like Fall.

I just can not even begin to tell you how happy that makes me. Suddenly, I want to knit soft, wooly scarves and dip apple slices in caramel-- both of which I have done in the last couple of weeks. I want to sit outside at night and sip hot apple cider while listening to the rustle and crunch of the leaves.Sadly, I don't have any cider mix and the only cider they sell here is alcoholic. Some of it is nice, but it just isn't the same.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite time of year. Back to School, Halloween, Thanksgiving (yes, I do make a feast even though I live in the UK-- and I do miss the Turkey Bowl terribly); what's not to like? I mean not only do the kids go back (because by now we have seriously run out of ways to entertain them), there's the sales! I could spend hours (and put a serious hurting on my Visa card) in the back to school stationery sales! But then, I do admit that I am a geek. I just cannot resist buying a pretty notebook. I even have a pack of Sharpies, unopened, in my desk that I just had to have.

This year to celebrate sweater season, and complement the 5 new sweaters I just bought (I also have an addition to cable knit sweaters), I treated myself to the perfect Fall wardrobe addition-- apple print Converse! Seriously, how cool are they?

Another thing I look forward to in Fall is NaNoWriMo. The month of November is a magical time for writers all over the world. Speaking of which, I still have a ton of NaNo prep to do, so I better get to it.

Happy Fall Ya'll!
