Frozen With Frozen

Friday, 30 January 2015

It's a snow day! Well for me and the little one at least. The older one had to go to school. There were tears. So, I am sat here on the couch beside Little Miss watching Frozen. Again. For like the 4 millionth time.

It isn't so bad, though. I am snuggled up warm. I have enjoyed a lovely coffee (with homemade vanilla cinnamon syrup and whipped cream) and in about half an hour I can tuck into some homemade baked potato soup from last night. I do love a snow day!

And in just a little bit I will be able to write. After I get a few more things ticked off my to-do list. Of course, what I need to write isn't what is swirling around in my head. My WIP is set in the summer and here I am staring out at lovely, glittery snow while Elsa sings and dances in Disney snowflakes. I wish I was writing a frosty scene.

I wonder if I am the only writer who feels the pull of the weather, seasons, and holidays this way. I was like this writing about Halloween while sitting beside the Christmas Tree. I may sneak away from the WIP long enough to write a glittery scene. I don't have a story in mind, but who knows maybe it will spark one.
