Bows and bedtime

Friday, 15 February 2013

I am really too tired to post today. And I'm angry with DH, who neglected to even mention Valentine's Day this year. I'm taking him to dinner on Sunday and only asked him to pay the sitter, so I wasn't expecting a gift, but a 'Happy Valentine's Day' would've been nice. And that is only the tip of the iceberg. So rather than spend my post bitching, I'm going to keep it short.

I've been catapulted into a new business venture this past week (long story, but it makes me happy) so I've spent the week making bows for Southern Bug Bows (there's a Facebook page and I'm working on a web site). It has kept me from writing for a while. Well, that and the real job, kids, cheer... The list is 4 miles long. But I've enjoyed it. And tonight I wrote a scene for my WIP-- just over 1200 words! Now, let's see if I can catch up. But first, bed. It's been a long day.

Have a good weekend everyone!

  1. I thought your new business venture was going to be something about renting your husband out to groups that specialize in developing torture techniques. LOL - not funny that he forgot valentines day. When you went out for dinner was he like, "Dang, there sure are a lot of couples out tonight, and what's up with all the cut out hearts and love-themed decor?"

As a guy, I feel we (men) deserve at least one get-out-of-jail-free card. We also deserve to know when we've used it up ('cus sometimes we're just not sure).

    1. :-) Thanks for your comment.

We went out on Sunday, by then I think he knew I was less-than-impressed. I'm just feeling a little overworked and under-appreciated these days. But he did do that Mother's Day last year-- took my son and I on a long walk then offered to buy us lunch at a nearby pub and remarked on how strange it was to see it so busy. I thought about buying him a calendar but I'm fairly certain his phone has one and it clearly isn't helping.

And trust me, he's had his share of get-out-of-jail cards. If only he wasn't so darn cute...
